Orbán’s Biographer – My Interview with József Debreczeni

József Debreczeni is a former Hungarian politician who served as a personal advisor to Viktor Orbán between 1994 and 1996. Since then Debreczeni has written extensively on Hungarian politics and public life. His enormous output has helped to document Hungary’s entire political history from 1989 to the present. Among his many books are a biography of József Antall, Hungary’s first post-communist prime minister, and a biography of Viktor Orbán.

Debreczeni very graciously agreed to let me interview him earlier this year (2021). The interview was published in the American Purpose and is available here.
